The National Model Railroad Association, a 501(c)(3) not for profit educational organization, was founded at the first National Convention over Labor Day Weekend, 1935. The initial goal was to develop standards for scale model railroad equipment to facilitate interchangeability and operation of equipment between modelers, clubs and others.
Today, the NMRA is a world wide organization, with over 18,000 active members, associates, families and clubs dedicated to the hobby of scale model railroading in all it's facets, supporting a hobby of many diverse interests that all relate to the greater world of trains and railroads.

Junior Showmanship Class
- Senior Class — Handler must be 15 years old and less than 18 years old on the day of the show.
- Intermediate Class — Handler must be 12 years old and less than 15 years old on the day of the show.
- Junior Class — Handler must be 9 years old and less than 12 years old on the day of the show.
- Pee-Wee Class — any exhibitor less than 9 years old on the day of the show. Best Junior Showman - the first place winners from classes 1-4 are automatically entered in Best Junior Showman.
Exhibition Classes (any age exhibitor)
- Herding Group (Border Collies, Collies, Shelties, German Shepherds, Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds, Corgis, etc)
- Hound Group (Beagles, Dachshunds, etc)
- Sporting Group (Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Pointers, Setters, Spaniels, etc)
- Working Group (Rottweilers, Dobermans, etc)
- Toy Group (Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, Toy Poodles, etc)
- Nonsporting Breeds (Chows, Dalmatians, Bichons, Standard Poodles, etc)
- Terrier Group (Jack Russell Terriers, Miniature Schnauzers, etc)
- Misc Group (Purebred dogs not recognized by AKC)
- Mixed breed dogs under 20 pounds

Ironing Contest

Rumples beware. Crumples take care. Wrinkles and crinkles can't hide anywhere! This is one competition where iron truly sharpens iron, and your chances of winning increase as you decrease. Arrive early as we expect to be bursting at the seams with fans hemmed in for what promises to be a riveting event. On August 11, 2023, at 6pm some of the fastest irons in the Midwest will descend on the fairgrounds to test their mettle, steamrolling wrinkles, and flattening everything in their path—all in hot pursuit of the title.
ENTRY RULES
- Contest will take place at 6:00 P.M. Friday of Fair Week in the Olde Barn Pavilion.
- Exhibitors will compete in groups of 5, judges will create groups based on age at time of contest.
- Iron and board will be provided. Contestants are welcome to bring their own iron and/or starch.
- Each exhibitor will have 7 minutes to iron a cotton button down men’s dress shirt from a wrinkled state.
